Thanks for visiting "We Love Nyack." This site and blog grew out of a Facebook group we started a few years ago for people who live in the Nyacks, or are interested in Nyack issues. You should join the group! We have a lot of great people there who contribute to a vibrant but respectful and constructive dialogue on all things Nyack.
I'm Joe Rand. I grew up in Rockland, and have lived in Nyack for over 10 years with my wife, two kids, and three dogs. I love it here, and want to use this space to explain why, and also address ways in which we could be even better.
And as of January 1, 2021, I'm also a Trustee of the Village of Nyack, meaning that I'm on the board that helps manage the village. This means I get to go to lots of meetings and people yell at me about parking. It's awesome!
On this site, I've collected some of my favorite posts from the Facebook group, which are otherwise lost to the archives. And I'll be contributing thoughts about Nyack periodically, which I will cross-post to the Facebook group.
Also, if you like my writing, check out my "Move to SUMA" blog, which I maintained from 2009 through around 2016, documenting my experience moving from the city to Nyack.
